PCBA Events

The PCBA holds several events throughout the year on a variety of bee topics.  Below is a list of events either currently planned for this year or events we have held in the past and hope to schedule again in the coming year.


The PCBA meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM for a social half hour then our meeting at the

Bee School

There will be a 2 day bee school on March 16 & March 23, 2024

Queen Rearing
Upcoming queen rearing workshop (TBD)

Honey Extraction Workshop
The honey extraction workshop is tentatively planned for (TBD)

Wax Workshop
A wax workshop is tentatively planned for (TBD)

Equipment Building Workshop

The equipment building workshop is usually presented in February as part of the bee school. 

Community Apiary Days

Community apiary days are typically held every other weekend on Saturdays or Sundays depending on weather and temperature from March to October.

Community Outreach/Public Speaking

PCBA has several members who are happy to come out to local schools and clubs to discuss bees.  We also attend various events within the county and surrounding area to promote bees and pollinators.

NCSBA & Other Similar Conferences

Every year PCBA encourages its members to attend a variety of state and national conferences.  We also offer scholarships whenever possible to give our members the most opportunity to attend.  This year many of these conferences have moved to online Zoom events.

Person County Veterans Pollinator Garden

The PCBA is a proud sponsor of the Person County Veterans Pollinator Garden.  Each year we organize and/or participate in various landscaping field days to keep the garden looking its best.
