North Carolina Department of Agriculture
& Consumer Services
The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS)-Plant Industry Division and the North Carolina State University (NCSU)-Apiculture Program are making these internet pages available in an effort to bring together growers in need of bee pollination services and beekeepers who have honey bee colonies for rent. Growers with pollination needs and beekeepers with colonies for rent may post their names, addresses, and other pertinent information on this website. It will then be the responsibility of the growers and beekeepers to negotiate contracts for pollination.
If you are interested in listing your name as a grower or pollinator, you can submit this information by filling in the “Submit Your Ad” form or by contacting NCDA&CS or NCSU as noted below:
The NCDA&CS Plant Industry Division regulates the movement of agricultural or related items capable of spreading harmful insects, diseases, and other pests. Beekeepers participating in this program will be required to comply with all Honey and Bee Industry Regulations . At a minimum, certificates or permits will be required for the interstate movement of bees. Additionally, those participating within North Carolina will be required to contact the NCDA&CS State Apiarist (Don.Hopkins@ncagr.gov
or by phone: 919-233-8214) to determine if there are current intrastate requirements or restrictions.
For additional information regarding any bee pest alerts or how to obtain a permit to move bees, please contact Don Hopkins, NCDA&CS State Apiarist at Don.Hopkins@ncagr.gov or 919-233-8214.
